ABOUT

Dr. Heather Humann currently teaches in the Department of Language and Literature at Florida Gulf Coast University and is the faculty adviser for Odyssey – FGCU. She also serves on the editorial board of two peer-reviewed journal, Margaret Atwood Studies and Studies in American Culture (SiAC). Prior to joining the faculty of FGCU, she taught at the University of Alabama and at Shelton State College.

The author of four books–Domestic Abuse in the Novels of African American Women: A Critical Study (McFarland, 2014), Gender Bending Detective Fiction: A Critical Analysis of Selected Works (McFarland, 2017), Another Me: The Doppelganger¬†in 21st Century Fiction, Television and Film (McFarland, 2018), and Reality Simulation in Science Fiction, Film, and Television (McFarland, 2019)–Dr. Humann has also published articles, essays, book reviews, and short stories.¬
